The Colima "Dancing Dogs" are the oldest and most enigmatic canine effigies found in North America. They were made from a few centuries BC until as late as AD 1,000 in Colima, West Mexico.
Sculpted in clay as funerary offerings, they accompanied their masters in death to aid the soul in crossing rivers of blood along the road of the dead.
