This enchanting pair of Venetian-style armchairs showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of the 'Grotto' design, a true reflection of the opulence inherent in Venetian artistry. Each chair features beautiful carved wood and plaster with with parcel-gilt and silver-painted finish, scallop-shell backs and fantastical sea-creature supports. Likely from the 1970s, these are Inspired by 19th-century Venetian designs associated with Pauly et Cie.

In very good vintage condition. Some wear to the gesso and paint due to age. Beautiful patina.
