#2008 Pair of Chin Hua Side Tables or Nightstands by Raymond Sobota for Century

A striking pair of vintage Chin Hua side tables or nightstands designed by Raymond K. Sobota for Century Furniture. Part of Sobota’s celebrated Chin Hua collection, introduced in the 1970s, the design draws heavily from traditional Asian forms while retaining the bold, polished look associated with 1970s Hollywood Regency interiors.
Each square table features the collection’s distinctive dark finish, contrasting wood grain, Asian-inspired detailing and brass accents. At 28 inches square, they have enough presence to work equally well as end tables in a living room or as a matched pair of low bedside tables.
Raymond Sobota spent four decades designing for Century Furniture, and his Chin Hua collection remains among his most recognizable work. These tables are a particularly versatile example of the line and an easy way to mix vintage Chinoiserie into a contemporary interior.
